ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
Tie Mizuhiki by Hand

Work through basic knots and ways of handling mizuhiki step by step with our staff. Programs vary by session and may develop into chopstick rests, accessories, or small decorative objects.

By working with the material directly, you can experience details that are hard to understand from photos alone, such as aligning several cords, adjusting tension, and shaping the final form.

HOW IT WORKS
For First-Time Participants

You are welcome even if you have never worked with mizuhiki before. There is no need to make a perfect knot from the start. Take your time, following the direction of the cords and the movement of your hands. TOKYO MIZUHIKI staff will support you where needed.

INSTRUCTOR / STUDIO
Your Facilitators

Sessions are facilitated by mizuhiki artist Emi Nakamura or members of the TOKYO MIZUHIKI team. Facilitators vary by session. See CREATOR / WORKS for Emi Nakamura’s profile and recent projects.
